Yesterday we reported on iPhone 5 rumors. To continue updates on iPhone 5, we have learned that iPhone 5 will be also your credit card and your car keys. The technology is called NFC Technology and is well highlighted in engadget post. Using this technology iPhone 5 user will be able to purchase say e-tickets to the concert. E-WALLET icon is already there so we believe that this NFC feature may actually be in the new iPhone 5.
The Independent of UK reported however that Apple does not have the capability just yet and therefore iPhone 5 may not include this feature. We’ll just have see what wind blows by us in next few months.
USAToday reported on Verizon’s discussions with Apple to hae iPhone 5 made for Verizon. IPhone has always worked on AT&T’s GSM technology, so it would have to be configured for CDMA wireless network. Apple is not very happy with current state of CDMA, but Verizon is working on that with soon to be announced LTE networks upgraded to enter the 4th generation of today. IPhone 5 is to support LTE networks.
Since 5th generation of iPhone 5 is evolutionary step from iPhone 4 the price of one should not change.
