Indian equities opened strong Tuesday on top of a strong rally the previous day as investors’ sentiments were boosted by interventions from financial sector regulators and pep talks by policy makers.
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was ruling at 11,806.62 points some 30 minutes into trading, with a gain of 497.53 points, or 4.40 percent, over the previous close at 11,309.09 points.
