A CT scan is also known as a computerized tomography scanner in medical language. It is a unique kind of X ray machine that sends numerous beams at one time into the human body. These beams are sent from varied angles for better results. Beams that pass through light body organs such as lungs are stronger, and the beams that pass heavier bodily organs like the bone shall be weaker. The computer uses such kind of information to find out the relative bulk of the examined tissues. The results are then processed and the 2 dimensional images are displayed on the monitor screen.
